logo mania

For this project I was trying to create a logo for the Tacoma world affairs council. A quick glance at their website and you can tell their logo needs improvement.  They appear to be a company that enhances public awareness in things such as cultural, economic and political concerns.  

This was strictly a illustrator project.  No need for any additional refining in Photoshop or anything else.  The pen tool was my friend on this project and, at first, I played around with some of the effect filters, but decided to bury those along with my original plans to make my logo more complicated than it needed to be.

It's always challenging making a logo that is easy to recognize and can tell you something about the business at a glance.  I started off too complicated at first, but streamlined my creation into something I believe people can take a quick look at and recognize as something familiar.  As always, my philosophy with logos is don't over think it.
