Whaddup Lakewood

For this project I was trying to recreate a logo for a newsletter called "what's up Lakewood."  In addition to recreating the logo I also resized and switched around some of the adds of the newsletter.


This assignment was done on Illustrator and in design.  I played around with the idea of drawing something up from scratch using procreate, but decided to go with something simple and easy to read while still keeping some of the original ideas from the original masthead.


I think there was a lot of room for improvement.  I did a little research about the newsletter to see what it was all about and still had a hard time creating something that seemed appropriate for the material.  I suppose simple isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I enjoy challenging myself and I think I could've done more.
